WHAT IS THIS?
Camera Monitor is a little tray system icon that notifies you when your Webcam is on.It is designed for the GNOME desktop, but will work as well on KDE and XFCE.
Camera Monitor is released under the terms of the GNU General Public License

HOW CAN I INSTALL IT?
From sources:$ tar xzf cameramonitor-0.2.tar.gz $ cd cameramonitor-0.2 $ ./configure --prefix /usr $ sudo make install
Ubuntu Feisty and Debian:
$ wget http://infinicode.org/code/cameramonitor/cameramonitor_0.2-1_all.deb $ sudo dpkg -i cameramonitor_0.2-1_all.deb
Ubuntu Gutsy Gibbon:
$ sudo apt-get install cameramonitor
HOW CAN I RUN IT?
Launch cameramonitor on command line: cameramonitorOr from GNOME menu: Applications -> Sound and video -> Camera Monitor
Change preferences on command line: cameramonitor -p
Or from GNOME menu: Preferences -> Camera Monitor
